The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) prioritizes the international recognition of the commission’s strategies, polices and practices to ensure they remain updated. Therefore, CAA holds international accreditation from INQAAHE and WEME, and memberships with regional and international accreditation organizations including CHEA and ANQAHE.

The International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) is a global association concerned with quality assurance in higher education, it consists of over 300 organizations from all over the world. The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) is accredited by INQAAHE as a part of the international recognition of its practices in quality assurance and academic accreditation in higher education in the UAE. As a member of INQAAHE network, CAA benefits from the full membership recognition as an official accreditation body in the UAE, enhanced international recognition of the CAA, development of quality assurance policies and practices, opportunities to participate in INQAAHE events, and access to subscriptions and memberships with international agencies focused on quality assurance and academic accreditation in higher education.

The World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the education and training of doctors worldwide. Its primary goal is to enhance the quality of medical education globally while promoting the highest scientific and ethical standards. The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) holds WFME’s accreditation and areas of cooperation include the recognition of academic programs in medical fields in the UAE, the recognition of the CAA as an accrediting body in the UAE by international quality assurance and academic accreditation agencies, and participation in WFME events.

The Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is a nonprofit organization in the USA that advocates for the value and independence of accreditation. It recognizes accrediting organizations and promotes quality assurance in higher education. The Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE), headquartered in Cairo, was established in June 2007 as a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring quality in higher education across the Arab world. It is important for CAA to be recognized regionally as the accrediting body for higher education in UAE.

The areas of cooperation between the CAA and ANQAHE include training and capacity building to enhance quality assurance skills, information sharing to stay updated with best practices, access to guidelines and tools for improving quality assurance processes, and opportunities for professional development through workshops and conferences. Additionally, collaboration and networking with other member institutions and aligning quality assurance practices with international standards are key benefits.
