HKCAAVQ signs Memorandum of Understanding with the CAA
The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 22 September 2020, agreeing to a new mutually supportive and collaborative framework for engagement between the two bodies.
The formalization of this relationship will lead to greater sharing of information and collaboration on mutually agreed projects and activities.
The partnership will assist in developing transnational education, skills and vocational education in the UAE and Hong Kong SAR. It will also enable the sharing of information on the higher education sector in the UAE and the Hong Kong SAR.
Professor Mohammed Yousif Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor & CEO of the CAA said
“The CAA is pleased to formalize this association with HKCAAVQ. It will act as a mechanism for sharing information to promote excellence in higher education, and support the CAA and HKCAAVQ in their development of the higher education sector on a national and international basis. This memorandum provides the basis for future collaborative work between our two organizations”.

Under the MoU, we look forward to further exchange of information and intelligence as well as experience sharing in the advancement of quality assurance and pursuance of continuous quality enhancement and excellence in higher education and vocational education in Hong Kong SAR and UAE region.”
About HKCAAVQ
The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), formerly the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA), was established in 1990 as an independent statutory body to provide authoritative advice on academic standards of degree programs in higher education institutions in Hong Kong. In 2007, the Council was reconstituted under the HKCAAVQ Ordinance (Chapter 1150). The HKCAAVQ took on responsibility for the vocational and professional education and training sector and statutory roles as the Accreditation Authority and Qualifications Register Authority under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework under the Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications Ordinance (Chapter 592).
